A friend is getting married in October (and is a fellow cardmaker) so I wanted to do a themed card for her special occasion. She loves birds and they are having a "nature" inspired wedding and when I saw this card from Teneale Williams I thought it would be perfect!

Valentine's Card & card class

I made a couple Valentine's cards using the same die but embellished differently.  (I used the flutter tree die from Spellbinders)  Using kraft cardstock I cut out the tree.  The die set includes dies for cutting out various sizes of the butterflies so I cut those out using red cardstock.  After layering my background I adhered the tree using liquid adhesive due to the thinness of the branches.  I placed the red butterflies all over matching the size. For the other card I decided to cut out most of the butterflies to create a more barren tree.  I tried to leave as many branches as I could.  I used 2 sizes of heart punches to punch out hearts and attached them in random order on the tree.  For both cards I used the 2013 Close to my Heart Stamp of the Month set (S1301) for the sentiment.



I also did a class for a group of ladies and we made a masculine card & an Easter card. Here are those cards we did.

Merry Christmas!

With the holidays just around the corner I want to wish all my friends & followers a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!  It has been an exciting and slow process of getting my Close to my Heart business off the ground. I am grateful for everyone who has helped me achieve my goals each quarter!  I am looking forward to 2016 being an awesome year of creativity.  I plan to post artwork and classes regularly and work on producing pre-cut project kits for those with limited crafting time.

The new Seasonal Expressions catalog will be out January and there are so many new & exciting products in there.  There will be a new "Workshops your Way" program which will replace the "Workshops on the Go" and it will have enough product to create three 2 page layouts & 6-9 cards from each kit!!  (if you like the workshops on the go, those will be available in the Annual catalog until August 2016 or until supplies last)  Thin cut dies are coming also with coordinating stamp sets......what an exciting time to be a papercrafter!
